The Bay of Fires Celebration held 5 January started off with a fun run, escorted walks and talks. Our local Binalong Bay beach park known as the ‘village green’ drew in large crowds with tourists and locals. Last year we did the botanical walk and the history walk, both on the programme this year. After very hot weather and fires around the state we all needed a diversion.
It was infectious so I put down the camera and joined in. Here’s to a wonderful way to start 2013 and hopefully we stomped the fires down.

Looks like fun! Hope you’re ok and not too affected by the fires – we were thinking of you and John yesterday.. xxx

Thanks we are fine here, no threat at present. Bicheno is an hour away and it had fires as well as the south of Tasmania. Roz

Great that you and John are okay. Have been thinking of you and all of the other poor people who have lost everything. Was on the map checking where the fires were. The festival looks great, hope you had a wonderful day and a Happy New Year to you both. xx

Thanks Lynda, our area is safe and it is a concern, we keep looking at all the trees in our area and thinking of what we would do if in jeopardy. Roz
