Our education continues – this is why we continually return to Paris, we never stop learning about events in history, witness first hand current events in the heart of Europe and acquire more knowledge about artists, architects, design and of course our other passion food.
Perriand worked with Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris – who was – wait for it – none other than the architect Le Corbusier, he adopted the pseudonym which was a variation on a family name.
The name “Le Corbusier” is a registered trademark owned by the Fondation Le Corbusier and licensed for the production of designs created by Charles Jeanneret alone and with his co-authors Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret.
She worked in the Le Corbusier/Pierre Jeanneret studio as furniture design associate in 1928, where she used photography for her preliminary studies. The chair looks very modern even today.
Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) is also honoured in an exhibition on now at Petit Palais.
It must be an honour for her family to see her work being exhibited in two venues in Paris at the same time.
